New Resident Checklist
As a new resident to St. Louis Park, there are several changes that need to be made to both your home and personal records. The following checklist will take you through these changes that are needed
1. Register to vote

2. Change your Garbage service and level
When you move into a home, your garbage and yard waste collection service remains at the same level as the previous owner. To switch to a different service level, you must contact the Utility Billing office at (952) 924-2111.

3. Change the water/sewer account
As a new homeowner, you need to change the water service account from the former owner's name to yours. To do this, call the City of St. Louis Park's utility billing office at (952) 924-2111. Utility bills are mailed on a quarterly basis and cover water/sewer services as well as garbage collection. If you prefer, you can sign up for automatic deduction and have your utility payment automatically deducted from your checking or savings account. Customers who sign up for this option still receive a quarterly statement so they can keep track of their utility bill and withdrawal dates. To sign up for the Automatic Payment Plan, fill out the form on this web site and mail it to City Hall or come to City Hall. Click here for the form. City Hall is located at 5005 Minnetonka Boulevard (three blocks east of Highway 100 on Minnetonka Boulevard).

4. Register Your Vehicle
Vehicles must be registered within 60 days of moving to Minnesota. You must provide a valid driver's license, a title or registration card, and proof of insurance. For more information, contact the Minnesota Department of Public Safety at (651) 296-6911 or www.dps.state.mn.us/dvs.
